摘要: Cyanobacteria harvest light energy for photosynthesis with phycobilisomes (PBS). These macromolecular antenna complexes consist of two structural domains: a core which associates the photosynthetic membrane, and series rods that radiate from [1]. Both domains are composed different chromophoric phycobiliproteins nonchromophoric linker polypeptides. The major cyanobacterial allophycocyanin (AP), phycocyanin (PC), phycoerythrin (PE), each consisting an α β subunit. AP is localized to domain, whereas PC PE rods. polypeptides specifically associate phycobiliprotein maintain PBS structure facilitate efficient transfer within complex.
