摘要: Abstract Three classes of pigment mutants were generated in Fremyella diplosiphon the course electroporation experiments. The red mutant class had high levels phycoerythrin both and green light no inducible phycocyanin light. Thus, this behaved as if it always light, regardless conditions. Blue exhibited normal photoregulation, whereas was present at red- green-light-grown cells. Furthermore, absolute amount allophycocyanin increased threefold comparison with our wild-type strain. Green lost capacity to accumulate but showed photoregulation phycocyanin. Analyses transcript abundance these demonstrated that changes different phycobilisome components correlated mRNAs encoding those components. characterization supports hypotheses previously discussed concerning molecular mechanisms involved regulation phycobiliprotein gene sets during chromatic adaptation.
