摘要: Abstract Results of an initial study have shown that the wear lifetimes sputtered MoS2 coatings changed significantly as a function coating parameters. This paper reports on continuation study. Substrate bias and substrate position now been investigated. A grounded parallel to target provided longest lifetime. Wear testing was done both sliding rolling element samples running in dry N2 air. In all cases large reductions lifetime were found for air compared with environment. Both d.c. r.f. evaluated, showed improved lifetimes. order correlate variations life caused by different parameters resultant characteristics, various analyses done. The structure, stoichiometry adhesion investigated functions optimized then applied bearings gears actual hardware addition test samples.
