摘要: Rocio virus (ROCV) is a highly neuropathogenic mosquito-transmitted flavivirus responsible for an unprecedented outbreak of human encephalitis during 1975-1976 in Sao Paulo State, Brazil. Previous studies have shown increased number inflammatory macrophages the central nervous system (CNS) ROCV-infected mice, implying role pathogenesis ROCV. Here, we show that ROCV infection results expression CCL2 blood and infiltration into brain. Moreover, show, using CCR2 knockout essential macrophage brain lack disease severity mortality. Thus, our findings protective CCR2-mediated infection.
