摘要: Receptors for hormones of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis are expressed throughout brain. Age-related decline in gonadal reproductive cause imbalances this and many have been functionally linked to neurodegenerative pathophysiology. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) plays a vital role both central peripheral regulation. GnRH has historically known as pituitary hormone; however, past few years, interest raised actions at non-pituitary targets. ligands receptors found brain where they may act control multiple higher functions such learning memory function feeding behavior. The mammals mediated by activation unique rhodopsin-like G protein-coupled receptor that does not possess cytoplasmic carboxyl terminal sequence. Activation appears mediate wide variety signaling mechanisms show diversity different tissues. Epidemiological support is evidenced reduction disease after agonist therapy. It previously considered these effects were via direct action brain, however recent data pointed outside pituitary. We therefore summarized evidence supporting controlling nervous physiology
