摘要: Since its identification in 1978, Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV-2) has been considered a pathogen of great importance the canine population because it causes severe enteritis with high mortality rates pups. CPV-2 is virus belonging to family Parvoviridae. Currently, there are three described antigenic variants (CPV-2a, CPV-2b, and CPV-2c). CPV-2c an emerging that seen as global health hazard. The objective this work was confirm presence dogs acute gastroenteritis compatible molecularly characterize circulating two regions Colombia. An analytical cross-sectional study conducted fecal samples collected from 71 showing signs diarrhea. were processed polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (RFLP), sequencing phylogenetic performed detect CPV. A total 70.42% individuals confirmed positive for CPV-2. Statistically differences found presentation between evaluated regions. Phylogenetic analyses CPV-2a/2b. Moreover, we conserved substitutions Asn428Asp Ala514Ser VP2 protein suggesting possible new CPV-2a variant This demonstrates CPV 2a/2b region highlights performing molecular studies early detection
