Sol–gel synthesis and thermal stability of luminescence of Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ nano-garnet

摘要: Abstract Ce3+-doped lutetium aluminum (LuAG) nano-garnet powder has been prepared by Pechini sol–gel method and characterized X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope, excitation photoluminescence spectra decay measurements. The thermal stability of luminescence the LuAG:Ce3+ evaluated for temperature range 25–150 °C under 460 nm excitation. results indicate that is better than commercially available YAG:Ce3+ nano-garnet. CIE chromaticity co-ordinates have found to remain constant with change in temperature. Hence, it could be an apt candidate generating white light when coupled a blue LED.
