摘要: A profound and persistent depression of serum testosterone concentrations was found in 19 men with burns injuries. This could not be explained by changes sex hormone binding globulin capacity, hyperprolactinaemia, classical primary testicular failure, or a hypogonadotrophic state. Pulsatile release luteinising control subjects but absent diminished burnt patients low concentrations. In addition, these showed reduced biological activity as measured bioassay even though normal were detected radioimmunoassay. The temporary hypogonadism after injury possibly other clinical states may related to hypothalamic dysfunction, which leads abnormal generation releasing non-pulsatile secretion activity.
