摘要: This work presents a cooperative effort to integrate new molecular (isozyme and SSU analyses) characters into the morphological taxonomy of genus Gigaspora (Glomales). Previous analyses published sequences indicated presence few polymorphic nucleotides in region delimited by primers NS71-SSU 1492'. In our study, 24 isolates arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi from Gigasporaceae were amplified 1492' was directly sequenced. The corresponding four more AM Gigasporaceae, already published, also included analyses. Three groups identified on basis 6 nucleotide-long 'molecular signature': rosea group (G. rosea+G. albida), margarita margarita+G. decipiens) gigantea, which constituted itself. isozyme profiles (malate dehydrogenase, MDH) 12 these 28 isolates, seven other not sequenced, compared. results obtained further supported grouping provided analysis. Both MDH analysis that two out 35 had been misidentified, confirmed when their morphology reassessed. use intrageneric signature as quick, unambiguous objective method recognize under any (field or laboratory) experimental conditions is suggested.
