Competitive party democracy and the Keynesian welfare state: Factors of stability and disorganization

摘要: This article addresses the question of what makes democratic political organization and capitalist economic mutually compatible on macro-sociological level, has, more specifically, led to absence manifest tension between those two organizing principles in post-World War II era Western Europe. A hypothetical answer is provided, namely that mass participation through a competitive party system democracy safe for capitalism Keynesianism welfare state democracy. The extent which one can expect continuity arrangements under conditions crisis then explored theoretical level.
