摘要: Objective This study investigated the effect of subinhibitory concentrations gentian violet on germ tube formation by Candida albicans and its adherence ability to oral epithelial cells. Methods Thirty strains C. isolated from denture wearers, normal healthy individuals HIV positive patients were used in study. The antifungal property (Minimum Fungicidal Concentration) was determined at various time intervals using a microdilution technique. (0.000244%) ((0.000244%, 0.000122%, 0.000061% 0.000031%) determined. In both experiments, water as control. test results compared Kruskal-Wallis test. Results At 60 min high concentration (0.0078%) required completely kill albicans. Subinhibitory significantly reduced 57% (p < 0.01) equally inhibited with controls. inhibition dependent, up 98% reduction 0.000244%. Germ higher isolates than wearers. Conclusion At concentrations, killed albicans, whereas it virulence preventing formation. This suggests that beneficial effects would last beyond fungicidal treatment candidiasis.
