摘要: A randomized unblinded study on the treatment of oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis was conducted in Kinshasa Zaire among 141 inpatients with AIDS whom 136 also had candidiasis. The compared efficacy gentian violet mouthwashes (1.5 ml 0.5% aqueous solution b.i.d.) oral ketoconazole (200 mg/day after a meal) nystatin (200000 U suspension q.i.d.). Patients treated swallowed their medication mouthwashing. enrolled this very high mortality (probability death: 41.6% 14 days). After days 72 patients could be evaluated. At that time lesions disappeared similar proportions (11/26 42%) (10.23 43%) lower proportion (2/23 9%; p<0.05). In seemed more efficient than both other treatments: esophagial 5 (24%) 21 to less 10% treatments (p=0.07). suboptimal results observed all 3 explained by profound immunosuppression study. This suggests is effective for As it cheap (0.5 US$/treatment course Kinshasa) authors suggest its use assessed larger studies. (authors)
