摘要: Abstract Concentrations of PCBs, organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), brominated flame retardants and a suite relevant metabolites these POPs, in all 175 different compounds, were determined liver plasma traditionally hunted pilot whales (n = 14 males n = 13 females age groups) from the Faroe Islands. The main objectives this study to determine differences presence concentrations compounds plasma, how they depend on developmental stage (calves, sub adults, adult females), assess maternal transfer suckling calves. Generally, lipid weight (lw) quantified POPs positively correlated, lw most did not differ between matrices. However, some individual differed significantly (p  POP age/gender groups with lower levels than juveniles. relative distribution also groups, due influence compounds. results indicated that larger, more hydrophobic transferred offspring less efficiently smaller or soluble Very low both OH- and/or MeSO 2 -PCB PBDE found no significant (p > 0.05) strongly suggesting very metabolic capacity for their formation whales. lack difference metabolite indicates contaminant compared precursor
