摘要: Of 363 patients with inflammatory bowel disease presenting between 1972 and 1983, 166 required definitive operation. A classification by histological type distinguishes Crohn's (CD) from ulcerative colitis (UC) indeterminate disease. CD is divided into predominantly ileal (81), total or subtotal colonic (74) distal (22), whilst UC classified (95) (63). Most operation for chronic persistent symptoms. In involvement a greater proportion of than those came to surgery. Very few After resection there was low incidence anastomotic leakage (3%) no operative mortality. There an overall mortality 8% after resection. This much lower in the non-urgent cases but rose 12% urgent cases.
