摘要: Inactivation of the E-cadherin gene has been described previously in gastric carcinomas. In present study, we investigated alterations carcinomas and analyzed relationship between such histotypes tumors. We performed PCR/single-strain conformation polymorphism mutation screening loss heterozygosity analysis a series 26 carcinomas, including 10 "pure" intestinal, diffuse, 6 mixed latter with intestinal diffuse components. Fifteen mutations were identified 12 cases (46.2%). Mutations included missense mutations, 7 which occurred sequences coding for calcium binding motifs, 3 splice site 1 nonsense mutation, frameshift deletion. found (70.0%) 5 (83.3%). No inactivating exclusively observed component conclude that inactivation is significantly related histotype not only but also To best our knowledge, this first report advancing genetic basis phenotypic divergence
