摘要: Abstract Four histological techniques for the demonstration of spirochetes were evaluated. The Steiner technique(1944) was most satisfactory but suffered a few drawbacks, such as precipitate and darkening tissue section which obscured spirochetes. method therefore modified to improve on these points. technique employs sensitization in uranyl nitrate, impregnation 1% silver nitrate an hour, brief exposure 2.5% gum mastic followed by reduction solution composed hydroquinone, mastic, absolute alcohol trace nitrate. This gives consistent results reveal presence will demonstrate bacteria well.
