摘要: The rate and pattern of growth as well vessel ultrastructure the area vasculosa were examined in chick. embryos grown shell-less culture after 3 d ovo staged according to Hamburger & Hamilton (1951) increase diameter was measured. This revealed an 0.4 +/- 0.02 mm h-1 (n = 62) for between stages 15 20. To determine sinus terminalis (the advancing edge vasculosa), a marked length photographed at hourly intervals over period 9 h. It found that this grows by new vessels forming external form parallel plexuses, one which then replaces original major route bloodflow. Ultrastructurally capillaries simple tubes endothelial cells, lacking basement membrane. cell cytoplasm contained only few organelles, mainly mitochondria rough endoplasmic reticulum. These findings indicate chick bear similar structural characteristics those associated with tumour angiogenesis suggest they may prove be useful model system studying factors involved pathological angiogenesis.
