摘要: Sediment contamination by metals poses risks to coastal ecosystems and is considered be problematic dredging operations. In Brazil, there are differences in sedimentology along the Large Marine Ecosystems relation metal distributions. We aimed assess extent of Al, Fe, Hg, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb Zn sediments from port zones northeast (Mucuripe Pecem) southeast (Santos) Brazil through geochemical analyses sediment quality ratings. The concentrations found these were higher than those observed continental shelf or background values both regions. northeast, associated with carbonate, while Santos, they mud. Geochemical showed enrichments Ni Zn, a simple application international guidelines failed predict their impacts, whereas use site-specific that derived ecotoxicological approaches seemed more appropriate management dredged sediments.
