Paving the way for crisis exploitation: The role of journalistic styles and standards

摘要: Crises tend to be crucial political events with the ability determine public’s faith in actors. If well managed, crises provide windows of opportunities for actors show action, strengthening credibility and pushing through new policies. This article explores one such instance successful crisis exploitation: Swedish government’s management financial 2008. During worst turbulence, government was able successfully frame event, without being challenged by contrasting frames, as a managed great competence best interest ordinary citizens. We explain this phenomenon journalistic styles standards. The concludes discussing findings where we propose that issue framing, combination descriptive journalism, contributes portraying credible managers rather than tactical politicians, result they appear more trustworthy competent.
