摘要: Do parents have any important long-term effects on the development of their child's personality? This article examines evidence and concludes that answer is no. A new theory proposed: socialization context-specific outside-the-home takes place in peer groups childhood adolescence. Intraand intergroup processes, not dyadic relationships, are responsible for transmission culture environmental modification children's personality characteristics. The universality explains why derailed by wide variations parental behavior found within between societies.
