摘要: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are uncommon mesenchymal of the gastrointestinal tract. Up to one-third GISTs malignant with a high rate metastasis. Surgical resection is mainstay care for patients resectable disease. Imatinib mesylate, selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor, current standard that cannot be completely resected or in cases metastatic GIST. Although often overlooked, radiation therapy viable option select We report case patient unresectable GIST who was treated local radiotherapy and achieved longterm response. also present review literature regarding use treatment has been shown radiosensitive tumor. Radiotherapy can offer long-term control should considered adjuvant palliative setting. The role delivered concurrently imatinib may warrant further investigation.
