摘要: Abstract Biodegradable polyesters allow the development of acceptable bio-composites and bio-blends from agricultural-based raw materials without impairing their biodegradability other useful properties. The tensile properties binary blends polystyrene (PS) with biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL), d,l -polylactic acid (PLA), Eastar Bio Ultra (EBU) were investigated. Blend composition ranging pure PS to polyester, in 25% increments, compounded, injection molded, used tests, which following calculated: yield stress, strain, modulus. In general, PS/biodegradable polyester found be between values corresponding components. Comparison stress modulus showed these decreasing order: PLA/PS>PCL/PS>EBU/PS, is exact opposite reported trend interfacial tensions blends. This implies a correlation that consistent expectations. However, data also strain PLA>PCL>EBU, identical observation on PS. Thus, observed could due contribution bulk polyesters.
