摘要: During paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, patients frequently experience chest pain and marked ST segment depression suggesting acute myocardial ischemia. The purpose of this study was to assess whether during tachycardia is caused by ischemia as reflected net lactate production. Twenty-five (14 men, 11 women) who had a history mean age (+/- SD) 38 +/- 14 years underwent electrophysiologic testing. Twenty-four these no evidence coronary disease, whereas one patient undergone previous bypass surgery. Nineteen orthodromic six atrioventricular node reentrant tachycardias. A 12 lead electrocardiogram simultaneous femoral artery sinus blood samples for determinations were obtained at baseline 5 10 min tachycardia. Mean heart rate 83 beats/min increased 180 25 All 1 8 mm in 9 the leads. Chest occurred 64% Baseline extraction 28 13% with significant change or In contrast, comparison group seven known atrial pacing 168 26 five resulted greater than equal 2 7 leads from 29 -27 20% (p less 0.05) indicating production.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
