摘要: Summary In the summer of 1987-1988, an outbreak 11 cases Yersinia enterocolitica enteritis caused by 2 serogroups (0:3, 0:6,30) occurred prompting investigation into possible environmental sources. Symptoms were present for a mean 9 days and in distinct age groups — toddlers (7) who presented with diarrhea, young adults (4), 3 whom clinically appendicitis. survey 39 randomly chosen pasteurized milk samples, positive growth Y. 1 each fredericksenii intermedia . An association between clinical isolates V. was thus sought comparison biogroups, serogroups, virulence markers biochemical outer membrane profiles. All belonged to biogroup 1, serogroup 0:6,30. Pathogenicity studies on 0:6,30 from feces performed in-vitro tests (Ca 2+ dependency, autoagglutination, & serum resistance). The human most whilst none positive. Outer protein analysis showed similar profiles suggesting association, however source majority (0:3) remains unknown.
