摘要: Appreciative joy (or sympathetic joy) refers to feeling happiness for others and is one of the four prosocial attitudes (“four immeasurables”) cultivated by loving-kindness meditation in Buddhism. The current study included 1622 participants developed a scale measure appreciative friends daily life. Both an exploratory factor analysis confirmatory resulted consisting three components: sense joy, positive interpersonal bias, self-transcendence (study 1). exhibited high correlations with measurements relationships immeasurables. also shows incremental contributions emotions, satisfaction life, trait happiness, peace mind after controlling or immeasurables (studies 2 3). higher scores among Buddhists than individuals no religious belief, its structure was maintained across English Chinese samples 4); addition, it demonstrated good test-retest reliability 5).
