Localisation of intracranial EEG electrodes using three dimensional surface reconstructions of the brain

摘要: Subdural strip electrodes or intracerebral are used to localise epileptic foci, which is imperative in epilepsy surgery. The precise positioning of the subdural electrodes, performed via a bore-hole, difficult. Therefore their location relation gyri and sulci has be determined by radiological techniques. In this study, three-dimensional (3D) MRI technique was for localisation intracranial EEG 17 patients suffering from severe epilepsy. A 3D gradient echo sequence with slices 1 mm thickness required assessment gyral anatomy brain surface. short repetition time 30 ms leads diagnostic image quality an acceptable measurment about 15 min. Postprocessing surface reconstruction using Sun workstation. Three-dimensional allows more registration elctrodes simultaneous display adjacent structures. incorrect placement readily detected 3 patients. proved superior electrocorticogram electrode compared two-dimensional imaging CT.
