摘要: Rhinosinusitis (RS) is a symptomatic disease classification of many causes and major economic burden worldwide. It widely accepted that RS further classified into acute (ARS) chronic (CRS) rhinosinusitis based on the duration symptoms, viral infection plays large role in initiating or potentiating disease. In this review, we examine respiratory virus exacerbation ARS CRS. We explore epidemiology CRS highlight key viruses may cause exacerbation. also review current understanding infections upper airway to explain putative underlying mechanisms inflammatory events Advances accurate diagnosis etiologic symptoms which can lead better management are surveyed. addition treatments provide relief, potential harnessing existing antiviral strategies prevent exacerbation, especially with improved diagnostic tools guide prescription antivirals against causative viruses.
