摘要: The organic toxicants formed in chlorinated water cause potential harm to human beings, and it is extensively concentrated all over the world. Various disinfection by-products (DBPs) occur are genotoxic carcinogenic. toxicity major concern for DBPs which has been present more potable water. purpose of work was evaluate properties Allium cepa as a plant model system. chromosomal aberration DNA laddering assays were performed examine effect trichloroacetic acid (TCAA), trichloromethane (TCM), tribromomethane (TBM) system with distinct concentrations, using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) positive control tap negative control. In root growth inhibition test, concentration dependent, EC50 values 100 mg/L, 160 mg/L, 120 mg/L respectively. chromosome assay, tip cells investigated after 120 h exposure. bridge formation, sticky chromosomes, vagrant fragmented chromosome, c-anaphase, multipolarity aberrations seen anaphase–telophase cells. It noticed that enhanced concentrations DBPs, total frequent. damage analyzed roots exposed (TCAA, TCM, TBM) by laddering. biochemical such lipid peroxidation, H2O2 content, ascorbate peroxidase, guaiacol catalase dependent. interaction studies binding mode TCAA, TBM DNAs. evaluated spectrophotometric spectrofluorometric revealed might interact Calf thymus (CT- DNA) non-traditional intercalation manner.
