摘要: The objective of this study was to examine the effect substrate hydrophobicity on cell-substrate contact area and affinity between adsorbed fibronectin (Fn) its receptor. Homo- copolymer films hydrophobic ethyl methacrylate (EMA) hydrophilic hydroxyethyl (HEMA) were spun-cast onto glass slides. Bovine aortic endothelial cells (BAEC) plated for 2 h in serum-free medium polymers preadsorbed with Fn. Cells fixed, labeled, examined by total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRFM) determine topography basal surface as a function distance from substrate. Phase contrast used projected adherent cells. cumulative greatest attached surfaces prepared 0% HEMA lowest highest content.
