摘要: We describe the isolation and initial characterization of hemomucin, a novel Drosophila surface mucin that is likely to be involved in induction antibacterial effector molecules after binding snail lectin (Helix pomatia A hemagglutinin). Two proteins 100 220 kDa were purified from membrane fraction blood cell line using columns. The two are products same gene, as demonstrated by peptide sequencing. corresponding cDNAs code for product contains an amino-terminal putative transmembrane domain, domain related plant enzyme strictosidine synthase, mucin-like carboxyl-terminal part protein. gene expressed throughout development. In adult flies, high expression found hemocytes, specialized regions gut, ovary, where protein deposited onto egg surface. co-localizes with peritrophic membrane. cytogenetic location on third chromosome region 97F-98A.
