摘要: Drosophila have a variety of innate immune strategies for defending itself from infection, including humoral and cell mediated responses to invading microorganisms. At the front lines these responses, are diverse group pattern recognition receptors that recognize pathogen associated molecular patterns. These patterns include bacterial lipopolysaccharides, peptidoglycans, fungal β-1,3 glucans. Some catalytically modify pathogenic determinant, but all responsible direcdy facilitating signaling event results in an response. events require multiple acting sequentially activate pathway. In some cases, pathway may be activated by different pathogens, through parallel detecting determinants. this chapter, we review what is known about Drosophila, how those lessons applied towards broader understanding immunity.
