摘要: Abstract Objective We carried out this study in patients who underwent resection of carotid body tumour (CBT). Shamblin's classification system was used, as well the modified Shamblin classification. sought to determine whether surgical time and bleeding could be reduced with use LigaSure® system. Methods A prospective CBT. Results decrease both shown, although only overall showed statistical significance. Cases were classified I, II III two, six, four cases, respectively, after treatment II, IIIa IIIb one, six by infiltration carotid. There nerve damage there three resections. Conclusions Use decreased CBTs. Lesions artery are mainly caused or muscular hypotrophy artery, which frequently requires vascular reconstruction. Nerve injury continues an important postoperative complication, may result a reduction quality life for patient. The rates surgery unchanged.
