摘要: Neuropathic pain may be effectively relieved by electric stimulation of the spinal cord (SCS). However, underlying mechanisms for ensuing relief are poorly understood. In a rat model neuropathy displaying hypersensitivity to innocuous tactile stimuli, (allodynia), we have earlier demonstrated that SCS normalise withdrawal response thresholds. present study, using microdialysis, it is shown induces decreased release dorsal horn excitatory amino acids (EAA), glutamate and aspartate, concomitant with an increase GABA release. Local perfusion GABA(B)-receptor antagonist in transiently abolishes SCS-induced suppression EAA Thus, effect on neuropathic allodynia due activation local GABAergic inhibiting which chronically elevated such conditions.
