摘要: Tonsillectomy is a major surgical procedure in terms of volume the general otolaryngological practice. It 3000-year-old operation, referred Hindu medicine. There has been conceptual change indications and technique last 40 years. A comparative study between various methods tonsillectomy was done. The carried out single institutional set up by same surgeon but using different techniques. aimed at comparing intra-operative factors (blood loss, time taken for surgery), postoperative results (pain, bleeding, dehydration, complete healing), other complications like vomiting hospitalization groups methods. This done 2500 patients undergoing with or without adenoid removal period 35 years (1979–2013). majority (approximately 41%) first half this underwent cold steel whereas 39% microdebrider assisted tonsillectomy. Microdebrider tonsil surgery as day care 90%. In 21% patients, viz coblation, radio frequency laser were used. intracapsular associated lower mortality morbidity compared to steel, electrodissection, frequency.
