摘要: Several co-pathogens that pose threats to the fetus during gestation, including human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), may also contribute mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). Within endemic settings, associations between maternal HCMV viral load and increased incidence MTCT HIV-1 are documented; however, mechanisms promote poorly characterized. Here we demonstrate coinfection enhances susceptibility replication in placental macrophages (Hofbauer cells) vitro. Consistent with enhanced susceptibility, exposure upregulates CCR5 CD80 expression on Hofbauer cells. significantly induces I interferon (IFN), proinflammatory cytokines, antiviral gene expression. Interestingly, found diminishes IFN-mediated phosphorylation STAT2. Collectively, our data suggest HCMV-induced activation, local inflammation, antagonism IFN responses cells utero HIV-1.
