摘要: Abstract Pushover analysis is an incremental quasi-static procedure for evaluating the seismic behavior of buildings accounting their non-linear behavior. The simplest and classical version this method based on following assumptions: (i) structure has a vertical plane symmetry; (ii) there single horizontal earthquake component, parallel to (iii) structural dynamic in governed by dominant mode vibration. These assumptions prevent asymmetric be accurately analyzed torsion effects. Moreover, even symmetric structures component earthquakes, effect higher modes not taken into account. In order overcome these limitations, several multi-modal generalizations basic pushover have been proposed past years. paper, new approach presented. Inspired Direct Vectorial Addition (DVA) method, load pattern defined as linear combination modal patterns. novel improves original DVA introducing operative calculation factors (called “ α -factors”). This Enhanced (E-DVA) notion elliptical response envelopes allows components account simultaneously. addition, identification use definition pattern. Furthermore, paper describes obtain equivalent Single-Degree-of-Freedom (SDoF) oscillator properties general case under multi-component earthquake, with corresponding capacity curve normalization. spectrum earthquakes also given. For illustrative purposes, E-DVA applied non-symmetric (SPEAR building), main results are presented discussed.
