摘要: Aberrant promoter hypermethylation is common in head and neck cancer may be useful as a marker for cells. We examined whether cells with tumor-specific aberrant DNA-methylation might found the saliva of affected patients. tested 30 patients primary tumors using methylation-specific PCR searching tumor suppressor gene p16 (CDKN2A), DNA repair O6-methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT) putative metastasis death-associated protein kinase (DAP-K). methylation at least one these genes was detected 17 (56%) tumors; 14 (47%) p16, 10 (33%) Dap-K 7 (23%) MGMT. In 11 (65%) methylated abnormal matched samples. Abnormal all stages more frequently located oral cavity. Moreover, none from methylation-negative displayed any marker. Of samples healthy control subjects (15 smokers 15 nonsmokers), only sample smoking patient positive two target genes. Detection patterns cancer-related feasible potentially detecting monitoring disease recurrence. Long-term longitudinal studies are needed to evaluate this approach early detection at-risk populations.
