摘要: Among patients with advanced cancer, troublesome and persistent constipation is a more common symptom than pain. The major causes of in cancer are inactivity, treatment opioids, poor fluid intake nutrition. Opioids act to both decrease gut motility, intestinal secretion therefore harden the stool. Additional aetiologies may be related itself, general debility, concomitant diseases, or medication use. Analysis results from one centre participating multicentre, prospective, longitudinal follow-up study, has confirmed high incidenceof among opioid-treated revealed that even optimal management this only modestly successful reducing constipation. This study also indicated that, constipated patients, bowel care entailed an average 20 70 min per week medical time 55 120 nursing time, underscoring financial cost health system. Accordind another which involved 50 consecutive referred palliative unit, development resistant was independent morphine dose. However, highly statistically significant correlation between patient functional status, highlights critical often underestimated role immobility
