摘要: A study was carried out on 8,369 neonates delivered in the Maternity Hospital, Kuala Lumpur over a period of four months. Forty-nine (5.6 per 1000 livebirths) had congenital talipes. The incidence talipes equinovarus (CTEV) 4.5 livebirths while that calcaneovalgus (CTCV) 1.3 livebirths. 6/11 (54.5%) CTCV unilateral, ratio right to left feet involvement being 1:1. Only 12/38 (31.5%) CTEV were 1:2. Congenital significantly more common low birthweight (p less than 0.001). However, condition not with breech presentation nor those born primigravida mothers. Our data suggested multifactorial genetic background as most likely underlying cause Malaysian neonates.
