Age as a Risk Factor for Burnout Syndrome in Nursing Professionals: A Meta-Analytic Study.

摘要: Although past research has highlighted the possibility of a direct relationship between age nursing professionals and burnout syndrome, results have been far from conclusive. The aim this study was to conduct wider analysis influence on three dimensions syndrome (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment) in nurses. We performed meta-analysis 51 publications extracted health sciences psychology databases that fulfilled inclusion criteria. There were 47 reports information emotional exhaustion 50 samples, 39 depersonalization for 42 31 accomplishment 34 samples. mean effect sizes indicated younger significant factor nurses, although it somewhat less influential dimension accomplishment. Because heterogeneity sizes, moderating variables might explain association also analyzed. Gender, marital status, characteristics moderated may be crucial identification high-risk groups. More is needed other which there only small number studies. Identification risk factors will facilitate establishment prevention programs © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
