摘要: Background: Intrathecal oligoclonal band synthesis occurs in 95% of patients with clinically definite MS but may also occur the context CNS infection and other inflammatory conditions. By contrast, significance an intrathecal a monoclonal remains uncertain. Previously, association between single lymphoma has been reported relationship shown diagnoses more usually associated pattern. At present, it is not known whether will convert to response time. Methods: Data were obtained from who had CSF serum analyzed by isoelectric focusing (IEF) at authors' institutions over 6-year period. Clinical details acquired for those underwent repeat lumbar puncture after initial examination revealed immunoglobulin G band. Results: Of 31 identified as having band, clinical available 27. those, 9 found on subsequent have developed response. Conclusions: Among subjects bands, there was propensity either diagnosis or isolated syndromes due demyelination. In 18 reverted normal IEF continued exhibit only no cases encountered. Importantly, one these cerebral lymphoma.
