摘要: Abstract An experimental and theoretical investigation has been conducted to determine the deep penetration response of polycarbonate (PC). A series low speed tests was performed with steel punches establish load versus indentation response, enable detailed observation processes. The effects nose shape, lubrication punch diameter were determined. We found that average pressure on indenting end penetrator is equal 4–5 times tensile yield stress independent shape diameter. hackle zone microcracked material extends a 1.4 penetrator, this surrounded by plastic which 3.5 penetrator. model developed, based assumption equals required expand an infinitely small circular cylindrical void assumes existence outer elastic zone, surrounding predicted diameters zones are reasonably accurate.
