摘要: Extracts of Cocculus hirsutus Linn. and Hyptis suaveolens Poit. were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activity by agar disc diffusion method. The petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol aqueous extracts the leaves these plants studied using Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli , Serratia marcescens Aspergillus flavus as test organisms. Petroleum ether C. H. found to be more effective against respectively when compared other both plants. Phytochemical screening extract revealed presence alkaloids steroids, which suggests that phytoconstituents may responsible activity.
