摘要: The effects of 2 weeks orchidectomy and replacement therapy with testosterone upon the content distribution gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in median eminence were determined by means radioimmunoassay electron microscopy. Photographic montages prepared from micrographs lateral at point deepest invagination tuberoinfundibular sulcus. Morphometric analysis photographs tissues immunohistochemically stained for GnRH was performed to determine changes volume density GnRH-containing axon profiles following experimental treatments. A decrease after observed both morphometric total content. Testosterone treatment orchidectomized animals prevented postorchidectomy loss GnRH. conventional revealed an increase number axons containing no dense-core vesicles orchidectomy, but neuropil. results indicate that change immunostained related immunostainable not a size or axons. area corresponding location highest concentration be largely avascular separated vessels sulcus "border zone" composed glial foot processes. unique morphology has suggested name "compact distinguish it palisade zone which is continuous medially. this region are probably part tract extending farther caudally rather than terminal field.
