摘要: We report that CpG island methylation, an epigenetic modification of DNA known to correlate closely with silencing gene transcription, appears in the oestrogen receptor (ER) a subpopulation cells which increases as direct function age human colonic mucosa. This same methylation change characterizes virtually all 45 colorectal tumours examined, including earliest stages tumour formation. ER expression is diminished or absent tumours, and introduction exogenous cultured colon carcinoma resulted marked growth suppression. Our data suggest associated inactivation ageing mucosa could be one events predispose sporadic tumorigenesis.
