摘要: Purpose. The goal of this study was to assess the patient-perceived costs and benefits associated with longer-term outcomes epilepsy surgery in patients who underwent anterior temporal lobectomy or selective amygdalohippocampectomy. Methods. Surgery were assessed 1997 reassessed 2003. Demographic, clinical, psychosocial details collected using a validated self-completion questionnaire. Data from 67 had undergone surgery. Results. Forty-five percent seizure-free. There significant differences (P<0.001) between seizure-free (SF) continuous seizure (CS) groups respect anxiety, depression, impact epilepsy, self-esteem, mastery, stigma, affect balance, self-reported health, quality life. More SF also employed driving (P<0.001). Despite these there no for regret over but satisfaction success ratings. Conclusions. Patients not SF, longer term, little undergoing less likely be satisfied poorer profile.
