摘要: The chapter attempts to describe the potential of sol-gel derived ferroelectric thin films in energy conversion applications two fields, namely cooling by exploiting electrocaloric effect and harvesting. First, basics processing with Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 solid solution as representative material are described. is described a reversible temperature change under an applied electric field at adiabatic conditions. Sol-gel relaxor demonstrate giant they could be for solid-state devices microelectronics. In harvesting, from external sources, captured, stored used, example small autonomous devices. films, piezoelectric effect, i.e. generation charge upon stress, exploited. Due miniaturization electronic components, lateral dimensions nanometer micrometer range appropriate candidates future miniature related energy.
