摘要: Abstract Estimating body composition is important to understand the metabolic and cardiovascular effects of adiposity. changes in compartments arising from weight loss strategies equally evaluate their benefits risks, particularly frail populations (elderly or diabetic), following bariatric surgery. Body were evaluated 50 obese subjects (25 diabetic, 25 non-diabetic) before after a 7 kg obtained 6 months calorie restriction orlistat. Fat fat-free mass (FFM) estimated by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), plethysmography (BodPod) combination these 3- 4-compartment model, latter being considered reference method. FFM hydration was ratio total water (BIA) FFM. significantly higher than classical values (75.9 ± 3.0%, P A 4-compartmental necessary accurately estimate its during loss.
