摘要: The requirements of growth and organ development create a challenge in nutrition management for the pediatric patient. stress critical illness further complicates delivery adequate nutrients. Enteral feeding has several advantages over parenteral (PN), which include preservation gastrointestinal mucosa decreasing occurrence sepsis related to bacterial translocation. Although through tract is preferred route nutritional management, there are specific instances when PN as adjunctive or sole therapy necessary meet needs. With meticulous attention fluid, caloric, protein, fat along with monitoring metabolic status patient, it possible provide full support critically ill child within 24 48 hours hospital admission.
