摘要: Abstract The mycotoxin Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a potent renal carcinogen in male rats. Transcriptomic studies on OTA (4 vitro, 6 vivo, 2 vitro/in vivo) have been reviewed. aim of them was mainly mechanistic whereas the rest had mostly predictive (1) or evaluation (5) purposes. An overall tendency towards gene expression downregulation observed, probably as result protein synthesis inhibition. DNA damage response genes were not deregulated most studies. Genes involved acute injury, cell survival and proliferation upregulated several vivo Apoptosis vitro but less affected vivo; activation MAPKs has observed. Many related to oxidative stress cell-to-cell interaction pathways (Wnt) cytoskeleton structure appeared be either vivo. Regucalcin highly downregulated other calcium homeostasis significantly vitro. transport (OATs) metabolism (CYPs) Overall, mechanism action remains unclear, however transcriptomic data contributed new hypothesis generation vitro–in comparison.
